The point that you seem not to get is that this is not an issue about immigration. The issue is ILLEGAL immigration. I have many Mexican relatives. I grew up speaking Spanish and can cook a mean pot of menudo on Sundays. I love the Mexican culture, though I am mostly Cherokee and Irish myself.
The "illegal immigrants" (an oxymoronic term) are a slap in the face to all the immigrants from any and all countries who have gone through all the work required to learn English, American history, and to pass the requirements of becoming an American. Immigrants are welcome. Invaders are not.
As for the economy; over 7 MILLION "illegal immigrants" came into our country last year alone. How do you figure those 7 million people are helping our country? By paying taxes? (oops, no, they cannot be legally employed, so no taxes). Yet they can get education, medical treatment, and other forms of charity available in our country. Charity intended for LEGAL citizens! (Of any ethnicity).
